QUOTE FROM WEBSITE:

Founded in 2006 and currently in a state of heavy development, Kongregate seeks to create the leading online hub for players and game developers to meet up, play games, and operate together as a community.

By wrapping user-submitted Flash games with various community features, Kongregate's site serves as a unique way for users to play great web-based games alongside friends. Anyone can add their own games to Kongregate’s library in a process that’s fast and simple.

Kongregate is a great little gem on the internet that ive been playing around with for about a month now. Like it's name suggests, Kongregate brings together flash developers from around the net and puts all their games into one website. Now you're probabley thinking "Now, Marqie, whats the difference between this site and newgrounds? Newgrounds has more games, movies, and gadgets anyways!". Aside from the great community and allowing to chat with others while playing games, Kongregate has a special badge system which can allow players who sign up to get badge achievements when you get to certain points or do specific things in a flash game.

A good example of this feature is with the the Zombie RPG, Sonny.

As you can see, you get points for the badges you get. As of right now, points are pretty useless except for gaining levels and even then levels are still useless, except for bragging rights (or showing people how much of a life you DON'T have). Still getting badges always make you feel a little brighter and sunnier on the inside.

A New feature is the bi-weekly card challenges, where a featured game(s) would get a challenge that you would have to beat for a CARD. These cards will be used for a new upcoming in-site CCG game called Kongai.

Some information from the site about Kongai:

Kongregate's CCG is a battle-oriented game designed for those who feel right at home snuggled up in their opponent's brain, as it favors mind-game mastery over brute power or luck. Assemble a team of combatants among the characters and weapons you've unlocked on Kongregate, then head for the battlefield and face off against fellow Kongregate players.
So yea, look forward to that as well.
